Live for Speed is a racing game that caters to those who enjoy a challenge. There are no driving aids or arcade modes to cater to casual users!

The game is visually impressive. The tutorial is time-consuming and not easy, and that's just the beginning before you even start racing. Steering is done with the mouse, while gears and other controls are on the keyboard. Mouse steering is not ideal, but the developers argue that serious drivers would invest in a steering wheel!

For most users, however, the mouse will have to suffice. The graphics are well-done, with realistic vehicle models, authentic sound effects, and responsive handling. One downside to the racing experience is the rigid computer AI. Other cars stick to the racing line like glue, and if you're out of position, they won't avoid you but rather push you, often resulting in a spin.

This demo version includes three cars and one track, and the difficulty level ensures that it's enough to get started. Live for Speed has clearly been crafted with care, but unless you're a racing perfectionist, you may struggle to get the hang of it.
