Introducing Chat Date: Dating Made Simple to Meet New People, a revolutionary dating app that takes inspiration from the infamous website "Hot or Not". If you remember the popular site launched in 2000, you'll be familiar with the concept of rating the "hotness" of random members on a scale of 1-10. While the website may have faded away, the Hot or Not dating app is here to reinvent the experience for iOS, Android, Blackberry, and Windows Phone users.

The idea behind Chat Date is incredibly straightforward. Once you sign in, you'll be presented with a seemingly endless stream of photos of Hot or Not members. To express your interest, simply tap the Heart symbol at the bottom if you find someone "Hot", or the "X" symbol if they don't catch your eye. If someone you've shown interest in reciprocates, a "Connection" is made, allowing you to send messages and get to know each other better.

Each member's profile includes around 5 photos, a brief bio with age and languages spoken, and is geo-matched to your current location. This means that most profiles should be within a 100km radius of where you are. It's important to note that while most members upload normal dating profile photos, some may be more suggestive, although nudity is strictly prohibited.

Based on your bio, Chat Date will inform you of which of your Connections share common interests, how many mutual friends you have (based on your Facebook friends list), and their overall rating from other connections they've made. Additionally, if someone rates you as hot, you'll receive a notification with the identity of the person and a running total of how many members find you attractive.

However, one drawback of Chat Date is that many profiles appear to be inactive. After waiting 24 hours for replies from some of my Connections, I received no responses. It's unclear whether this is due to my Connections considering me a definite "Not" rather than "Hot", or if the profiles are simply inactive or fake. So, while there may be an abundance of members on Chat Date, actually getting in touch with them can be challenging.

The sign-in process for Chat Date can be a bit confusing. You're given the option to sign in with either your Facebook account or email address. However, if you choose the latter, it prompts you for a password that you don't have. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a way to create an account using an email address within the app, so I was forced to sign in with my Facebook account. It's worth noting that Hot or Not states on their website that they will never post anything on Facebook without your permission.

Despite these minor inconveniences, Chat Date is incredibly user-friendly. If you've used Tinder before, you'll find the interface of Chat Date to be remarkably similar, making it easy to navigate and use.

While Hot or Not doesn't offer any significant advantages over popular dating apps like Tinder, especially considering its smaller user base, it's still worth a try if you're looking for love and haven't had much success on other platforms. Just keep in mind that getting a response from someone may not be as easy as it seems.
