Clonezilla is a powerful backup and recovery utility that allows you to easily create file copies for future recovery in case of a catastrophic failure. Similar to Norton's Ghost, Clonezilla uses an imaging and cloning approach to partition a disk and create reliable backups.

While Clonezilla Live is perfect for single machine backup and restore functions, the server edition (SE) is designed for wide deployment in office environments. With the SE version, you can clone over 40 computer terminals simultaneously, making it a highly efficient solution. It can even restore at rates of about 8 GB per minute over a multicast when used with high-end hardware capable of 42-node clusters.

Clonezilla supports various file systems, including NTFS of MS Windows, HFS+ of Mac OS, GNU/Linux file management systems, VMFS5 of VMWare ESX, and NetBSD. It also offers AES-256 encryption to secure data access, ensuring safe storage and transfer. Additionally, Clonezilla supports single image restoration to multiple local devices, making it a versatile tool for various backup scenarios.

With Clonezilla, you can easily perform complete system backups and restore them on stand-alone PCs. All you need is a CD/DVD drive, a USB port, or a PXE or hard drive to provide a boot device. Its user-friendly interface and powerful features make it a reliable choice for data backup and recovery.
